South Kazakhstan's NGO intends to address the President of Russia

Shymkent. November 22. KAZINFORM-Leaders of the NGO "Sana Sezim" act in support of the South Kazakhstan citizens, who were held in slavery in a Moscow store.Kazakh citizens were released from captivity by Russian activists. Recently two morevictims–the young man and the girl who lived and worked in Moscow store were returned to SouthKazakhstan.According to the members of the NGO "Sana Sezim" girl was held in slavery less than a month, the guy-about three years.Now they refuse to communicate with the press. The former captivescome in contact only with the non-governmental organization, and they refuse to submit the application to the police.

Meanwhile, the NGO "Sana Sezim" already has experience the returning people to their homeland.This NGO deals with issues on labor migration.The first victim of slavery F. M came to the NGO a few years ago. She was held by force in the same store. According to the girl, she was offered a job in Moscow by her acquaintance. Who said that in Moscow, her brother has a shop. F.M together with her sister went to Moscow.

The girl said that they worked 18 hours a day, they were fed with outdated food, they were taken away the documents, were beaten and subjected to violence. The girl managed to escape a few years ago. She was helped by customers of the store, among whom were the natives of Kazakhstan. While working in the store F.M gave birth to the child.

The sister of the girl has remained in slavery, she was looking her for a few years, and she was rendered the assistance by NGO. She managed to meet her sister. Recently she received the message on cell phone from her sister, who reported about coming back to Shymkent, where store’s owner bought the flat for her.

F.M with NGO leaders went at the meeting with her sister: it was out that the apartment was not bought but it was rented, and the captive was brought to Shymkent by store owners. According to F.M, her sister was brought to Shymkent with the aim to give interview to the media and tell that there was no slavery, all worked voluntarily and got the salary. However, she is confident that her sister will be taken back to Moscow; she is forbidden to meet with family members and lawyers of NGO in Shymkent. Police officers of two countries have to look into this case: Russia and Kazakhstan, says the representatives of NGO. However the Prosecutor's Office in Russia issued a decision not to institute the criminal case.

According to Anastasia Denisova, The coordinator of the Russian project "Protection of labor migrants’ rights ", the investigating committee cannot take any action because the Prosecutor's Office has rejected the decision on initiating the criminal case.

Now the representatives of NGOs in Russia and Kazakhstan are preparing an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to look into the case. According to the President of Legal Center for Women's Initiatives "Sana Sezim",

Khadicha Abysheva, this case must not be left like that, because it has already gained wide public resonance.

Now, according to the NGO, there are still nine Kazakhstan citizens in Moscow. We note that according to the NGO, the owners of the store are natives of South Kazakhstan.
