Activists of Public Association “Women's League of Creative Initiative” took care of the problem of bride kidnapping in Kazakhstan.  

According to them, in domestic legislation should be rulesof protecting Kazakh girls from forced marriages and increasing the level of responsibility for the kidnappers, the newspaper "Express K" informs.

According to the social worker, the issue of early and forced marriage takes rampant in Kazakhstan. This is confirmed by the results of sociological research carried out by “Women's League of Creative Initiative” in cooperation with the National Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan and "Soros Kazakhstan."

“60 per cent of respondents showed that they faced with the kidnapping of minor brides not for the first time in their life- informs Chairman of Public Association "Women's League of creative initiative" Asiya Khairulina. – 74 per cent of teenagers answered that they have friends who had been stolen”.

In fact bride kidnapping is a criminal and punishable offence, but unfortunately it is rare that kidnapped brides or their parents write the application to the police. Stereotypes, prejudice and shame before the relatives do not allow people to enforce their rights,"- says the head of the Legal Center for Women's Initiatives" Sana Sezim" Khadicha Abysheva.

According to activists, the main task should be the work on the education of people of Kazakhstan.
