International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition on August 23.

This day was established on the recommendation of the 150th session of the Executive Board of UNESCO, on the day of the slave revolt in San Domingo and Haiti in 1791, which initiated the process of the elimination of the system of slavery.

On the International Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, the international community, not only remembers the historical events of 1791, but also pays tribute to all those who, acting together or alone, helped to start the irreversible process of destruction of the slave trade and slavery in the world.

Staff and interns of NGO "Sana Sezim" organized information campaign "Stop HUMAN TRAFFICKING!" Among the population booklets, brochures with "hot line" and information on security measures were distributed In Shymkent.

Young people, adults and older generation were listening with interest the information on this event, showing interest asking questions.
