Fourth annual interregional seminar on strengthening the international legal partnership between the countries of origin, transit and setting the fight with human traffic and illegal migration in Central Asia

On 9 – 10 November 2011 the fourth annual interregional seminar on strengthening the international legal partnership (formal and non-formal) between the countries of origin, transit and setting the fight with human traffic and illegal migration in Central Asia was held in Almaty.

Representatives of state and law enforcement bodies, embassies, international and NGOs from Great Britain, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Russian Federation, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, the United States took part in seminar.

The following issues have been discussed on the seminar:

  • Changes in the sphere of prevention and fight with human traffic and illegal migration in Central Asia countries, happened from the moment of the Third Annual Interregional Seminar in Abu Dhabi in 26 through 28 October 2010.
  • Main directions / trends (including practices and routes used by the criminals) in human traffic and illegal migration from, through and within Central Asia; changes related to open, investigated and reviewed legal cases (their types and amount) on human traffic and illegal importation of migrants.
  • Exchange experience in the sphere of efficient international joint investigations of transnational crimes related with human traffic
  • International legal instruments and efficient practice in term of putting the arrest and confiscation of incomes received as a result of crimes made in human traffic.
