Seminar for consultants of helpline of crisis center

The seminar for consultants of helpline of crisis centers took placein Almaty city on March 28th-29th 2011. The seminar was hosted by Association of Legal Entities “The Union of crisis centers” in Kazakhstan.

The aim of the seminar was to increase the level of knowledge of helpline consultants in terms of urgent psychological assistance to victims of domestic violence, elaboration of telephone consultancy skills, identification of victims of domestic violence and use of algorithms of actions for help and preventive measures.

There have been discussed the following topics within the frameworks of the seminar:

  • The elaboration of notions: helpline for victims of domestic violence.
  • The principles of helpline work.
  • Codifier of calls on the helpline for victims of domestic violence
  • Problem calls: silence. The work strategy of the helpline consultants
  • Functional duties, helpline consultants.
  • Redirection of the calls to the partners.
  • Informing the population and providing women’s access to the helpline.
