NGO “Sana Sezim” signed a joint plan with the Department of Internal Affairs of the South Kazakhstan Oblast, to prevent family related crimes and offenses in the area during 2009 – 2010. As part of this plan, there will be quarterly prevention work, information distributed among disadvantaged families, and raids in the Al-Farabi, Enbekshi, and Abai districts. The aim of the plan is to identify and prevent family and domestic conflicts while they are in the early stages.
   November 2, 2009 employees of NGO “Sana Sezim”, together with employees of the Public Security Division of the Department of Internal Affairs of the South Kazakhstan Oblast, conducted a raid in the Abai district among disadvantaged families who live in suburban area of Kaynar – Bulak. During the raid, there was an information campaign to prevent domestic violence against women, an awareness talk on responsibility for wrongful acts against women and children and the rights of victims of domestic violence, and leaflets were distributed with contact details of helplines.
