May 21, 2010 in Astana held a roundtable “Current issues of implementing the Conciliation Institute (mediation)”, which was attended by an employee of NGO “Sana Sezim”. The round table was held in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The organizers of the roundtable were: Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Union of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan and UNDP in Kazakhstan.

   Participants of the roundtable were representatives of the Supreme Court, Parliament, Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Scientific Advisory Board, Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, the Committee on Court Administration, international organizations and NGOs.

   On the round table discussed the draft law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Conciliation (mediation)”, mediation as an alternative method of dispute resolution and its development in the Kazakhstan, the introduction of mediation experience in the CIS countries and Germany, as well as the proposed recommendations from the round table for the legislative regulation on conciliation (mediation) in the Kazakhstan.
